Novice Light Heavyweight 3rd Place

I weighed in at 197! It was tough but I held off the water and easily made weight the cut off is 198 1/4. It was a very tough weight class.

It was a long day but I had a blast. Competing was hard work but I was up to the challenge as I had been posing hard for 6 week prior to the event. Posing felt effortless. Most of the guys are straining and sweating up a storm out there. I like to go in as if I've been here before, just old hat to me. Hopefully the judges see it that way, although, the judging was a little suspect. I understand it is subjective but there should be some standards in judging. The judges need to get it correct. There is way too much hard work that goes into preparing for the competition for a judge to mess up the night of the show.

The NPC needs to have a scoring system to judge the athletes of course there can be a subjective part to judging it should be a part of or a tie breaker. Another words if: Judge "A" likes athletes that have more muscle mass, all other things being equal he/she would pick the more massive athlete. Judge "B" puts more emphasis on being lean all things being equal then he/she would pick the leaner athlete. That, I understand. But just arbitrarily picking athletes at first glance based on mass is not right.
Here is what is supposed to be considered by the judges per the NPC:

NPC JUDGING CRITERIA
The sport of bodybuilding represents the balanced muscular development of the physique. The quality of this development is determined by the overall assessment of these areas:

PRESENTATION
SIZE - MUSCULAR DEVELOPMENT
SYMMETRY - BALANCE OF THE PHYSIQUE
MUSCULARITY - LACK OF BODYFAT

It is imperative to remember that each category is of equal importance. The judges will submit one final placing for each competitor after the completion of all three rounds of posing – Relaxed Round, Individual Posing Round, Mandatory Round

Well NPC has a standard it is my opinion that it is NOT followed properly during the judging process.
That's all for now...
